6.5 Crore for 'Orange' Satellite rights

The satellite rights of ‘Orange’ are being sold out at Rs 6.5 Cr. Despite the movie got flop talk, as per the initial talks, the price was quoted whopping. Thanks to Magadheera for that. The super hit block buster ‘Magadheera’ also could not bag such a big sum selling satellite rights. This price is pumping oxygen for Nagababu to some extent.

The movie is getting out from many theatres not even completing 50days. It is obvious that TV audiences patronize this film to great extent due to Ram Charan’s image and contribute for huge TRP for the concerned channel when this movie is aired.

Experts say that Rs 6.5 Cr is reasonable sum here.

Total 6.5 Cr For Nagababu @ 'Orange'

Mega brother Naga Babu had grandly launched his project ‘Orange’ under their family banner Anjana Productions. True to the image, he did not hesitate to spend the extra money to ensure that they come up with something that can at least touch half the success of ‘Magadheera’.

However, the results turned out to be something different. Sources say that already, Naga Babu sold the film at a deficit after spending nearly Rs 35 crores for the film. Overall, after selling satellite rights and other things, it is heard that he still suffered a Rs 6.5 crore deficit.

As for the distributors who took ‘Orange’, all of them ended up with a 50% deficit in their overall earnings. They say that they got slightly lucky as the openings were good due to Ramcharan’s image and crowd pull factor along with the songs. Better luck next time folks.

Gossip : 'Floodlight Murder' By Nagababu!!

Just like a murder in the broad daylight is called the Daylight murder, a murder which is done in the presence of floodlights can be called as Floodlight murder or atleast a floodlight murder attempt. Recently, Nagababu took part in the audio release function of ‘Mirapakaya’ which has Ravi Teja in the lead role. Nagababu also spoke during the function as he is playing a key role in the film.

During his speech, he recalled his recent project ‘Orange’ which he produced and without taking the name of the director Bommarillu Bhaskar, Naga Babu attempted to kill the career of the director through his speech. He breathed fire by saying that “there are few directors who keep doing shootings for days together without knowing what to take or how to take and they are ruining the producers”. He also warned that if this is how the directors behave then there will be no one called producer in the future.

That way, he gave a finishing touch to the already mentioned allegation that Bommarillu Bhaskar made them spend exorbitantly for ‘Orange’. In this process, Nagababu has knowingly or unknowingly revealed another fact that ‘Orange’ has become an utter flop. Now, all eyes are on Ramcharan who labeled the Sakshi channel as Idiot channel as they said ‘Orange’ was a flop. They want to see what Charan will call his Babai now.
 
One must not encourage and even forgive those directors who end up hiking the budgets for a cinema without proper planning and clarity. But the question remains as to why Chiru and Co. who are alleging that ‘Orange’ has gone overboard with budget so many times are silent over the other film ‘Magadheera’. By mentioning that ‘Orange’ has been made at a budget which is short of ‘Magadheera’ budget by 2-3 crores, they have already revealed that it is a big budget venture so why didn’t they create an issue at that time?

Nagababu has mentioned that ‘Orange’ was made with a budget of Rs 33 crores but how much is Ramcharan’s remuneration in that budget? Charan- Bhaskar has teamed up and came up with a poor quality film. Despite knowing this, why did they do business like ‘Magadheera’ range? These are few questions that Nagababu has to answer.

The action of shocking result from Bommarillu Bhaskar and his Orange has got the reaction from Producer Naga Babu yesterday at 'Mirapakaya' audio release function. Speaking to a large gathering Naga Babu whitewashed the entire Director community for their incompetence in finishing the projects on time killing the mere existence and patience of an entity called Producer. "Directors of this modern age must try and learn the skill from astute filmmaker like Ram Gopal Varma who normally concludes a movie in one month. A brilliant example is 'Sarkar' which was finished in one month of time. Our Telugu directors are a total contrast, wasting years of working days, burning huge negative and crores of rupees in handing over a below average result movie. Calculations of Varma must be learnt by our directors. I sincerely express my desire to Varma not to leave the Telugu industry before our directors learn something from him," said Naga Babu praising RGV. We have to wait and see, how Bhaskar will react to it.

Orange 1st Week Collections in Nizam - Rs. 3.82 cr!

Apart from Ramcharan, Orange it had a big cast including the likes of Genelia, Brahmanandam, Prabhu, Vennela Kishore etc. There was some big names in the crew list too – director Bommarillu Bhaskar, music director Harris Jayaraj, cinematographer B.Rajasekhar etc. etc. Inspite of all these big names, Orange couldn’t match up to the expectations of common audiences.
The openings for Orange were great for the first one or twodays, but they dropped consistently. Overall, in the first week, Orange collected around Rs. 3.82 crore in the first week.
Many say that the core subject of Orange was suitable for urban areas, and not for other centers. With many big movies lined up in the next few weeks, it will be interesting to see how Orange will fare in the long run.
